Samsung Galaxy S III and the 9 million pre-orders

According to Samsung Electronics, 9 million pre-order requests have been received by the company for its new Galaxy S III phone. The pre orders are coming from more than 100 telecom carriers worldwide.

Samsung already surpassed Apple as a smartphone maker and all has been due to its very popular Galaxy series of phones. Samsung is of course using the free Android platform, published by Google.

The Samsung Galaxy S III will first be launched in Germany on the 29th of May, 2012 and will then be made available in more countries.

According to the news sources Samsung’s (smartphone) factory in South Korea is running at full capacity, which allows it to produce 5 million smartphones per month.

The company itself made no comments on the above.

Chelsea FC wins Bayern Munich during penalty shootout and the Champions League trophy for first time

Chelsea FC, Champions League 2012, Chelsea Champions, FC BayernWhat a final that was between Bayern FC and Chelsea FC, last night at Allianz Arena in Munich. Two of the top European football clubs played each other at what ended up to be a thrilling game, offering even an agonizing penalty shootout.

Chelsea FC won Bayern Munich at the penalties with a score of 4 – 3. The game ended 1 – 1 during its normal period with Bayern losing its chance to go ahead in the score for a second time, after Arjen Robben lost a penalty won by his team.

Overall, Bayern was better than Chelsea FC, with the German team showing its dominance throughout normal time,as well as during the extra time. Read the rest of this entry »

Virgin Atlantic has launched its much awaited Upper Class Suite on its transatlantic A330 flight between London and New York.

The latest changes on this specific route’s planes are the result of a collaboration between Virgin’s internal design team with studio Pengelly Design, which is based in London, UK.

The Upper Class Suite is fitted with new shiny looks, mood lighting and even Swarovski Crystal decorations.

The personal suites of the Upper Class feature leather seats, all having their own access to the aisle; helping you to get in and out of your space whenever you need, without disturbing the people around you at all.

According to Virgin, the beds fitted to the suites are longer than those of any other airline. Frosted Perspex dividers give everyone the privacy they need during the flight, plus ideal light conditions.  Read the rest of this entry »

Is Twitter any good?

So what I like about Twitter is how easy you can follow someone and basically receive all of their tweets and news about them or the topic they are dealing with.

Just click on follow button and you are all set. No acceptance requests, no waiting, nothing.

What I also like is the fact that there are thousands, if not millions, of tweeters to follow from all over the globe.

Nokia is first releasing the service/app in selected countries, starting with France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Spain and the United Kingdom.

Both the service and the application will be available for the following Lumia models: Lumia 900, Lumia 800, Lumia 710 and Lumia 610.

According to Nokia, more countries will enjoy the release of Nokia Reading throughout the year.

Olympiacos wins final against CSKA in Final Four thriller

Olympiacos Final Four, Euroleague 2012, EuroleagueOlympiacos is the latest team to have won the Euroleage Final Four  in what proved to be a thriller game against CSKA Moscow, in Constantinople.

The team of Olympiacos were losing to CSKA with a difference of up to 19 points; the score had reached the amazing 53 – 34 for CSKA. However, the team of Olympiacos have managed to close the gap and overturn the score to a final 61 – 62.
